  • 1 year return: The total return earned by the money market fund over the previous 12 months. 'Total return' is expressed as a percentage and represents the overall performance of the fund. The actual 1 year return earned by your account may differ.

7 day yield: The amount of distributions paid by the money market fund over the last seven days, expressed as an annualized figure. The actual yield earned by your account may differ.

Annual percentage yield ('APY'): The current annual interest rate paid to depositors in the account. The actual APY earned by your account may differ and may change without notice to you.

  • A mutual fund that invests in high quality, short-term debt securities and has relatively low risks compared to other mutual funds. A money market fund generally seeks to maintain a fixed net-asset value – that means if you put $1.00 in, you will get $1.00 out. There is no guarantee that a money market fund will achieve this objective, and an investment in a money market fund can lose value.

Money market funds pay dividends that are generated by their underlying investments. Generally, these dividends will reflect short-term interest rates.

Securities in your Prudential Builder account are protected up to $500,000. For details, please see www.sipc.org Opens in a new window.

  • An interest-bearing and FDIC insurance eligible account in which your cash is held at partnering FDIC-insured financial institutions. The annual percentage yield is set by the institutions at which your cash is held and is subject to change.

Cash swept into your Prudential Builder account is eligible to be covered by FDIC insurance up to $250,000 per account holder. For details, please see https://www.fdic.gov Opens in a new window.
