GreenPath is a member of the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC), is accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA), and has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.

  • Prudential is committed to improving people's financial wellness—and, especially these days, dealing with debt and maintaining good credit can be key to lowering stress and living a healthier financial life. Even so, we understand that you may be hesitant to seek help to manage debt. That's why we chose to work with GreenPath. As a mission-driven, nonprofit organization, GreenPath has decades of experience helping people develop a personalized plan and put it into action to address and lower debt.

  • When you call GreenPath, you get a complimentary, 30 to 60-minute session with an experienced GreenPath credit counselor. Your session will include:

    • A discussion about your financial goals
    • An assessment of your financial situation.
    • Potential options for meeting your debt- and credit-related goals.

At the end of the session, you'll have a personalized action plan for decreasing (with the goal of eventually erasing) your debt. You can also choose to sign up for a fee-based* debt management program designed to help you lower your interest rates and monthly payments, and pay off your debt faster.

    Footnotes

*Fee ranges from $10 to $75 a month depending on your state; the average is $38.

  • One of the first things a counselor will do with you is put together your budget. Having an idea of your income and expenses is helpful. If you have billing statements handy, even better.

  • There's no charge for GreenPath's initial 30 to 60-minute credit counseling and guidance session. If you wish, for a monthly fee* you can also participate in a personalized debt management program designed to help you lower your interest rates and monthly payments, and pay off your debt faster.

  • The first session takes about an hour. However, the timing will depend on your situation, your goals and what you need to do to accomplish them.

  • You don't need an appointment to speak with a GreenPath financial counselor by phone. You can call or schedule a call during normal local business hours.
