Known as opportunity youth, more than 350 million young people globally between the ages of 15 and 29 lack access to school, training or regular jobs. Through 2025, Prudential is committing more than $180 million to provide opportunity youth around the world with the education and training needed to achieve lasting financial wellness – the largest-ever private sector investment in this group.

Aspen Institute
The Aspen Institute is a nonpartisan forum for values-based leadership and the exchange of ideas. One of its programs is the Aspen Forum for Community Solutions which supports community collaborations to address pressing societal challenges, particularly for opportunity youth.
Prudential’s grant supports the Aspen Forum for Community Solutions in launching a global opportunity youth movement. It also supports the alignment with the My Brother’s Keeper Initiative and the 100K Opportunities Initiative, the nation’s largest employer-led coalition focused on hiring opportunity youth.

Forum for Youth Investment
The Forum for Youth Investment is a national nonpartisan organization which focuses on advocacy, training, and support for opportunity youth. The Forum launched the Opportunity Youth Network in 2013 to bring together key leaders from nearly 100 organizations including leading funders, companies, federal, state and local government officials, and nonprofits to help opportunity youth across the country.
Prudential’s grant is helping the Opportunity Youth Network create an advocacy campaign to elevate local, state and federal government’s understanding of the importance of investing in opportunity youth.

Jobs for the Future
Jobs for the Future
JFF helps low-income Americans attain the skills they need to succeed in today’s economy by developing multiple pathways to educational and career advancement.
Prudential’s grant supported the Opportunity Works initiative, which supports evidence-based “back on track” pathways for opportunity youth in seven communities across the nation.

LeadersUp is a national talent accelerator that has connected more than 4,000 opportunity youth to sustainable employment opportunities.
Prudential’s commitment helps fund The Future at Work: Accelerating Opportunity Youth Career Pathways Project, which increases earnings for opportunity youth by providing a pathway to middle-skilled or managerial positions with employers.
Living Cities
Living Cities
Living Cities is a partnership of 18 of the world’s largest foundations and financial institutions that aims to advance the economic security of all people in U.S. cities and close racial gaps in income and wealth.
Prudential’s grant supports the partnership’s Racial Equity Here Initiative in five U.S. cities that are committed to improving racial equity and advancing opportunity for all. It will also include an assessment of how government operations are impacting outcomes for opportunity youth.
My Brother's Keeper Alliance
My Brother’s Keeper Alliance
With Prudential's support, My Brother’s Keeper Alliance (MBK Alliance) was launched to address persistent opportunity gaps facing boys and young men of color (BYMOC). MBK Alliance works to unite businesses and nonprofits around challenges facing BYMOC including poorer education outcomes and lower rates of employment. In 2017, MBK Alliance became an initiative of the Obama Foundation.
Our commitment also includes launching My Brother’s Keeper Newark, and making impact investments focused on building wealth for BYMOC by connecting them to quality jobs.

MyPath
MyPath
MyPath provides financial access and education to low-income youth and young adults. They can put their new financial knowledge and skills into action by banking, saving and building their credit. Eighty-five percent of participants have seen an improved FICO credit score.
Prudential is supporting a pilot program to help recent YouthBuild graduates build healthy banking relationships, set and achieve personal savings goals, boost credit scores, and achieve long-term financial stability.

Our Piece of the Pie
Our Piece of the Pie helps opportunity youth in Connecticut become economically independent adults by forging close relationships with youth development and employment specialists. This has led to OPP serving over 1,700 Hartford youth each year who are either overaged or under-credited and placing them on a pathway to a high school diploma, postsecondary program or sustainable employment.
Prudential’s recent commitment will expand services, and provide internship, career pathway, and postsecondary programs.
Servicios a la Juventud A.C. (SERAJ)
Servicios a la Juventud A.C. (SERAJ)
Services to Youth–SERAJ–is one of Mexico’s largest national youth organizations. SERAJ implements effective secondary education retention and violence prevention strategies in high-risk contexts.
Recently, Prudential’s grant created the first alternative school model for opportunity youth in Mexico in three cities. This provides a new pathway for those who dropped out to earn a high school diploma and a new public policy framework for alternative diploma-granting schools.

Third Sector Capital Partners
Third Sector Capital Partners is a nonprofit advisory firm that collaborates with government, funders, and providers to build evidence-based initiatives and address persistent social needs.
Prudential's grant supported Third Sector in leveraging impact at five local and regional workforce boards to implement Pay for Performance initiatives. These initiatives redesign government contracts and create financial incentives to improve employment pathways for opportunity youth.

Year Up
Year Up
Year Up, a national organization with a footprint in 21 U.S. markets, helps opportunity youth reach their full potential through professional careers and higher education. Ninety percent of Year Up graduates are either employed or enrolled in an educational institution within four months of program completion.
Prudential’s recent grant is helping Year Up scale its partnership with community colleges and develop innovative initiatives to expand employment opportunities for young people.
YouthBuild Newark
YouthBuild Newark
YouthBuild Newark helps engage and prepare opportunity youth in Greater Newark through education, skills training, career counseling and leadership development.
Prudential’s support helped launch YouthBuild Newark more than a decade ago and supported the organization in launching an innovative alternative charter school model for Newark’s opportunity youth. It also helped create the Opportunity Youth Network Newark, the first citywide system for supporting opportunity youth.
