Prudential has a long history of growing and protecting community assets around the world. We help improve communities by investing financial resources, business expertise, and associates' volunteer skills in programs that increase human potential and individual self-sufficiency. This work is carried out through Prudential's Community Resources Department's three units:
Local Initiatives
Local Initiatives focuses on helping Prudential by engaging its employees in building stronger communities. Under the umbrella of "Prudential CARES," Local Initiatives leads employee involvement, guides associates in enhancing their business skills through community service, and connects Prudential businesses with nonprofits to increase effectiveness. Three signature programs are Global Volunteer Day, the Backpack Challenge, and the Community Stewardship Initiative.
Social Investments
Social Investments supports domestic and international ventures that share Prudential's dedication to creating healthy and sustainable communities. It makes socially responsible investments in projects that develop and preserve affordable housing, improve access to quality education, and connect neighborhoods and residents to economic growth opportunities.
The Prudential Foundation
The Foundation invests in select nonprofit organizations that address the needs of targeted communities worldwide. The Foundation focuses on education leadership and effective youth development programs. It also supports efforts that: increase employment opportunities, promote entrepreneurship and create affordable housing; promote the arts as a quality of life and economic engine; and build the capacity of nonprofits to ensure sustainability.
