Life Insurance

Prudential offers comprehensive life insurance plans for Association members and their families at competitive group rates. Our plans are easy to administer and provide features that members will appreciate.

  • Term Life – Members can get valuable protection for their families through the term life plan.
  • Dependent Term Life – Members' spouses (or domestic partners, where permissible) and dependent children can get term coverage.
  • Group Universal Life – This life insurance product includes a cash accumulation fund to which members can contribute. This plan can be continued into retirement.
  • Level Premium Term Life – Members and their covered spouses benefit from term life insurance with the stability of level premiums for a 10- or 20-year period, as selected by the member.
  • Accidental Death & Dismemberment – Members can get an additional layer of financial security and peace of mind with an Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) supplement to their life and disability coverages.
  • Group Variable Universal Life – Members can contribute to a wide variety of tax-deferred investment options through this life insurance product.

Disability Insurance

Prudential's Long-Term Disability (LTD) coverage protects members and their families against income loss as a result of the member's inability to work resulting from a disabling injury or sickness. Our LTD product provides a variety of plan designs and standard and optional benefit provisions, all to provide the member with both comprehensive and cost-effective LTD coverage. Some of our unique plan features that can be included are:

  • Long Term Disability
    • COLA – Monthly claim benefits may be increased by up to 3% each year, for up to 10 years to keep pace with inflation.
    • ADL 5-year extended benefit period for catastrophic disabilities – Benefits will continue for five years beyond the maximum benefit period if the claimant is disabled and unable to perform two or more Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
    • Survivor Benefit – The eligible survivor will receive a survivor benefit equal to six months times the gross disability benefit.
    • Catastrophic ADL Disability Monthly Benefit equal to 50% of the base disability benefit – The claimant receives an additional benefit if unable to perform two of the six Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
    • Voluntary rehabilitation benefits, including a $1,000 worksite modification benefit.

Business Overhead Expense Disability Insurance

Business Overhead Expense Disability Insurance provides a monthly benefit for ongoing office overhead expenses, helping members in small professional practices sustain their business during periods of total disability. Monthly benefit is tied to covered office expenses (such as rent, utilities, equipment leases, employee salaries, insurance premiums) for which a professional is legally and financially liable.
