Waiting for a New Heart
Prudential found the right solution for a unique situation.
When a claimant was waiting for a life-saving heart transplant, he needed to stay close to the hospital, where the surgery would be performed. Even though his Short Term Disability (STD) plan did not provide temporary housing benefits, Prudential's Return to Life® team helped him connect with two programs designed for just this circumstance. When the claimant got the call that a heart was available, he was just minutes from the hospital. After successful surgery, he returned to work within the STD period.
