Local Initiatives |
Local Initiatives strengthens Prudential by building strategic relationships through staff initiatives and volunteer empowerment. The unit leads community involvement and employee volunteerism via the branded initiative, “Prudential CARES.” These efforts are supported by a broad array of tools and programs, including:
Global Volunteer Day mobilizes companywide volunteerism every October. Employee teams and their families participate in a variety of community service activities, such as painting a school or feeding the hungry. Qualifying teams receive $1,000 from The Prudential Foundation for their chosen nonprofit partner.
Personal Volunteer Day provides eligible employees a paid day off to encourage their active participation in helping a favorite nonprofit organization.
Prudential CARES Volunteer Grants program provides grants to reward nonprofit groups being helped by active and retired employee volunteers.
Backpack Challenge is held each summer to benefit children in foster care and others in need. Office groups work together to fill backpacks with clothing, books and other items that will bring smiles to kids’ faces during stressful transitions in their lives.
Retirees Offering Community Service (ROCS) is an organization located in Newark, N.J. and Minneapolis that mobilizes retired Prudential volunteers.
Corporate Contributions program supports a broad range of nonprofit initiatives.
