Prudential's commitment to communities is long-standing and strongly held. We believe that we have an obligation to contribute to the cities where we live and work. Through the efforts of the company's Community Resources Department and in the projects led by Prudential volunteers, we strive to tangibly improve the lives and living conditions of our neighbors.
As active corporate citizens, we've learned that investing in communities -- with the goal of making a real difference -- is not easy. There are many good causes, many strong organizations and many people who could benefit from additional resources. Choosing where to invest can be difficult.
Through our many years of experience, however, we've found that one characteristic can determine the success or failure of an initiative - the quality of its leadership. Strong leaders craft visions that motivate others to make different and better choices, and do things in new ways. Working with their teams, first-rate leaders drive initiatives to outstanding conclusions. When we collaborate with, support or cultivate leaders, our projects are much more likely to create positive changes in our communities.
Our Community Resources Annual Report will introduce you to some inspiring leaders. We hope that their stories will encourage you to think about your own capacity to lead, to create positive change, and to make a difference.
