Pension Risk Management in a New Era Conference

Dates: San Francisco: June 7, 2011
Dallas: June 9, 2011
Chicago: June 14, 2011
New York: June 16, 2011

Although the financial markets remain far more stable today than a few years ago, surprising events like last year’s flash crash and sulky equity markets mean that risk management is rarely far from the investment agenda. Many lessons have been learned since the market meltdown of 2008. Now new strategies are being tested in real world scenarios. This conference series will provide plan sponsors with insights into what is fast becoming the new best practice in risk management. The conference will consider what information plan sponsors need from their managers – and how this information might be used to build a full picture of all the risk that the portfolio is running. It will ask about methods to manage and mitigate tail risk, and do they work in stressful environments. It will consider how plan sponsors are ranking the risks that they run and what methods are appropriate to manage risks like longevity risk, the potential for inflation and interest rate changes. And it will examine how confident plan sponsors are of their ability to measure and monitor risk in today’s investment environment.
